OBJECTIVE

  • To introduce sailing to young adults and adults
  • To build self-confidence, to promote teamwork and self-resilience

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to swim at least 50 metres in tidal waters with the aid of a buoyancy vest
  • Basic Sailing Course (BSC): 15 years and above

INSTRUCTOR TO SAILOR RATIO & CLASS SIZE

  • Instructor to sailor ratios is 1:6
  • Minimum number of sailors per class is 6
  • Maximum number of sailors per class is 12

SAFETY MEASURES

  • A safety boat will be on standby in the marina to be deployed for inclement weather.
  • Sailboats will be equipped with complete equipment and basic first-aid kits.
  • Weather check by Instructor is mandatory prior to going out to sea. Hourly weather checks are to be conducted by the Academy while the sailors are out on the waters. Instructor will be notified immediately in the event of impending inclement weather.
  • Crew are on standby to assist sailors on the slipway to ensure fast recovery.

AFTER THE COURSE

  • The chartering of the sailboat services will be made available to participants.
